Plant-based, high-protein chocolate milk with ashwagandha to alleviate stress!

I always loved drinking chocolate milk when I was growing up. It was my favorite thing to drink! Unfortunately, back then milk alternatives (almond, oat, or coconut milk) weren't prevalent yet so it was made with cow's milk. Now we have these wonderful alternatives that make my sensitive tummy and body happy. So I thought why don't I bring chocolate milk back with almond milk (or your favorite milk option) and enjoy one of my childhood favorite drinks all over again. In fact its even better than before because now I've added protein and made it lower in carbs. So I've just evolved my chocolate milk game so I can include it in my current dietary requirements and manage my PCOS. Currently, my dietary regimen includes being a vegetarian, high protein, and moderately low carb. So I made it with:
Organic protein powder to keep me fuller longer
Organic Flaxseeds to get my daily Omega 3s to reduce inflammation
Organic Molasses to keep my iron levels maintained and at a healthy level. Also adds a nice malty texture! (Can omit it if you want to keep it lower in carbs as well)
Organic Monk Fruit Powder - a zero-carb sweetener typically used in keto diets. I love it because it keeps things sweet without the carbs
Navitas Adaptogen Blend with Ashwagandha, Maca, & Reishi mushroom - I swear by this, I literally call this blend that I purchase from Amazon as my stress buster, I always include it in my shakes and smoothies and after a couple of days of starting I'm noticeably less stressed and on edge and works even better when I take it with Magnesium 500mg
Almond Milk or milk of choice as a base. I typically use the Unsweetened Vanilla Almond Milk since it is very low carb and I tend to drink a couple of these per day. (If you don't mind extra carbs then use Chocolate Almond Milk for double chocolate)
Unsweetened Cocoa or Cacao to make it more chocolatey
Ice, just makes it taste better cold
Optional: Ryze Mushroom Coffee - I sometimes like to do this with the first one in the morning, then its like a mocha frappe especially if you add extra ice and coconut whipped cream on top. Delicious!
I just put all of the ingredients in my BlendJet and take it with me when I'm heading out for the day, or make it in my Vitamix blender when I'm at home. I also find that the Navitas Organic Superfood Blend helps a lot with reducing my stress and anxiety, I feel mostly because of the Ashwagandha in the product. This makes it easy to get in my daily dose by blending it in with this chocolate milk recipe. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do!
